 Norse Gods and their mythology were not so much popular in world but after Marvel made trilogy on God of Thunder their popularity has reached to an another level.

1. Sam Raimi was the first who pinched the idea of making a movie on God of Thunder after completing his 1990 movie Dark Men. 
But 20th century Fox was not interested at that time so the plan got dropped. 




2. In 2004 with the collaboration of UPN television broadcasting Corporation A Thor TV show was planned starring Tyler Mane as lead but it was eventually cancelled. 




3. Chris Hemsworth was not the only single choice to play Thor. Triple H, Channing Tatum, Daniel Crag, Liam Hemsworth were also being considered. 

In the end the race was between both brothers Chris and Liam where Chris was finally casted as Thor. 



4. To prepare for the role of Thor Chris Hemsworth adopted the strict diet of eggs, chicken, sandwiches, vegetables,  brown rice, steaks and protein drinks. He trained 6 months rigorously for his role. 

He was so bulk up that original suit became tight for him so a new suit was made for his built. 



5. Filmmakers collaborated with actual physicists named Sean Cargill, Kevin Hand, Jim Hartle as well as Kevin Hickerson for making the scientific details of story more and more correct. 

Their impact was so much that Jane Foster was earlier shown as Nurse but later changed as Physicist in movie. 




6. Thor earth scenes of city of New Mexico were shot at Cooks Ranch Filming studio at New Mexico USA. 




7. There was an other plan of introducing the other brother of Thor from comics and Norse mythology Balder the Brave. 

According to Norse mythology Loki killed Balder which became the main reason of Thor's anger towards Loki but eventually this plan was dropped from the story.
