With the abrupt unpredictable and mostly underwhelming year that most Bollywood films have had there is a unanimous feeling that audiences are seeking for Unique experiences in theaters and one production house that is always known for going out of the limb to try something fresh irrespective of it either completely missing the Marco being widely imaginative is Maddock films.
The new Venture media has really intrigued and excited me for various reasons. Amar kaushik leading the way for a horror comedy after Stree probably the best we've seen in the genre already instilled some faith within me but the teaser really set the bald rolling for me an eerie tone of a film set in Arunachal Pradesh the probable case of an adventure gone wrong an atmosphere of a village that raised to the animal and the intense background score and rapper found by K4 keko after a very long time.
Film fans and even neutrals were curious about the product waiting to be released and as the trailer of the film that I consider to be the Dark Horse for Bollywood in 2022 released my faith still remains intact for this exhilarating ride that lies ahead so let's talk about a few things about the trailer why it worked for me and why I feel it might be a lightning in a bottle for audiences stepping into the theaters.
One of the most striking qualities for me when it comes to the video trailer is the quality of special effects that has been handled by an international company MPC which has contributed its services to films like Top gun Maverick, Godzilla versus Kong and the Lion King where I thought that this was just a PR move by the creators to instill a sense of confidence before the trailer came out. The visual effects definitely delivered and promised a quality that will translate brilliantly on the big screen from the werewolf itself integrated with real life elements the transformation of Varun into the werewolf really stuck with me as its flames really promise a phenomenal technical quality.
The fact that the film has been shot in real locations in the forest of Arunachal Pradesh benefits the film tenfold as it has to be a combination of special effects in practical locations when you're looking at the case of especially animated films transformed into live action movies where humans are interacting with digitally created animals and elements around them you have to be so particular of the quality of the product going out there.
The glimpse of the final battle really promises an engaging quality. What has led to the absolute vilification of the quality of Adipurush versus Bhediya makes me assume that there was a sense of overconfidence with the product and the perception that the audience will resonate with the 500 crore ramayan epic versus there being a careful deliberation of the quality of product.
In the case of Bhedia I also love the pitch of the comedy in the trailer. Amar Kaushik really has proven himself as a director with movies like Bala and Stree and especially when it comes to the comic timing never really becomes absolutely slapstick or crass when you create additions to the supporting cast like Abhishek Banerjee and Deepak Dobreal you know it's going to promise to be a laugh riot in theaters especially dialogues asking and him exclaiming that the dogs are calling him fufaji at night. I think what will account for the most hilarious scenes however in the film is the animal Instinct that kicks in as Bhaskar has become this animal whether it be a physical transformation and increase in appetite or craving the worst kind of meat as the friends react to his transformation. I think this will really account for a hilarious ride. I hope however that kriti sanon's character equally lends to The Comedy of the film rather than moving and deviating the story into a love track that sidelines the otherwise interesting premise.
The music really I think will be a great contributing factor to elevating the quality of the film and other than the rap we have already heard and the Eerie background score that kicked in as the title came. I hope there is an exhilarating bgm plan to highlight the Yuri and spooky atmosphere of the film. I won't lie though the Nostalgia really kicked in the Moment The Last Song of the Jungle Book played.
What I loved about the trailer is that despite it showcasing the transformation of Bhaskar played by Varun Dhawan being bitten by a werewolf and how it transforms him into this creature when night commences there hasn't been an exploration of the conflict that arises and by Bhaskar as the creature becomes the Messiah of the dense forest. I would assume that the film explores bhaskar's personal goal to remove this curse somehow but inadvertently realizing that he has to be the leader of the pack as the forest is inundated with illegal poaching and hunting this is all speculation of cause but we will have to wait and see what becomes the motivating factor for Bhaskar to attack the men who are well equipped with guns.
Amazing 👏
